For Nora- this is an extremely heavy brass? Cylinder that I think may be for some type of printing press. It has indented footballs all over which say “touchdown” on each of them. No markings. Approximately 18 inches tall, 10 inches wide and 1/2 inch thick. ???
Purchased from local estate sale
Dear Amanda,
Thank you for your request and your patience. This is a part of a machine for producing candy or similar sweets. The requested object is an iron cylinder with openings in shape of a football with the letters "Touchdown". At the endings of the cylinder, we see openings for amounting to a machine. This cylinder rolled over the raw and fluid mixture of the candy and the opening stamp the candy in the right shape. This piece was probably made in the middle or in the second half of the 20th century.
An estimation would be from 40 to 80 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
