82lbs of solid bronze; Presidents Scottish Terrier. at the White House by Best In Show dog handler, Richard Chashoudian, deceassed.
Commiissioned work for the ceo of the Presidential Pet Museum and now for sale to support the www.presidenttialmuseums.com website.
Dear Claire,
Thank you for submitting images of Mr. Chashoudian sculpting what would become a stunning life-size bronze depiction of a presidential terrier. Chashoudian has had a smaller sculpture offered and sold recently at auction for $375USD, this piece was then sold again via Ebay for $660USD. This example was much smaller at 8"h x 14"'l and lacks the history and provenance of your example.
I took some time to read the history of the Presidential Pet Museum and your connection with it. It is a fascinating and enjoyable history and provenance will play a role in determining the value of a piece. That said, it is difficult to affix an exact number on how large a role provenance plays. Conservatively, I would expect your example to sell at auction between $2000USD - $2500USD. That said, once in a retail setting, I'd expect closer to $5000USD to $6000USD.
Do let me know if yu have any follow-up questions to this and have a lovely day.
Kind Regards,
Erin-Marie
