What does this mean?

A bronze statue of the Indian god Durga. In Hinduism she is the goddess of War and also known as the mother goddess. I believe the statue is not an antique, its made in 20th century perhaps bought around the time your aunt lived in Madras, but I feel its even a little later. I believe the statue is made with the technic called Lost-Wax proces. Its made in one piece and has good details. These well casted big Indian statues are doing quite good on the market. I would recommend, if you are planning to sell the statue in selling it at an auction house in your neighbourhood with a prescription to an online platform like Invaluable, live auctioneers or the saleroom. That way you will be sure international bidders are also involved in the bidding process.
