I have scoured the Internet in search of what/who and what era etc this sculpture we found originated. It was buried in the sand at Boca Chica Beach near South Padre Island,TX. We believe it to be bronze, it’s 3” tall. The underside looks as though it broke off of something else, it is concave on bottom. The sculptures palm is up on his right hand and holding what seems to be a flower in the palm of his left.
We found it with a metal detector on Boca Chica Beach in South Padre Island. We have no idea the history of the piece.
Hello Bobbie,
Thank you for your appraisal inquiry with Mearto. I apologize for the delay in your appraisal and thank you for your patience. The item presented appears to be kneeling figure measuring about three inches tall. The object does appear to bronze and is the Hans dynasty style. The age of the object remains unknown and may require an in-person examination or testing.
The estimate provided is based on recent auction estimates and results of other comparable Chinese kneeling figures, dating to antique. The estimate is contingent on a full condition report. Please note asking or dealer prices may vary. Thank you and please take care.
I see now the notes, thank you for the information. Do you have a suggestion as how to obtain or where to go for a full condition report?
Hello Bobbie,
An accurate condition report would require an in-person examination. Mearto has an appraiser directory available. You may find an appraiser in your area.

Were you able to identify the origin of the piece? Curious to know the history and basis for the price of appraisal. What other information did you find on the piece?
Thanks,
