Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful pin. Such vintage jewellery are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
It is hard to tell the materials from the photos but I think it may be an amethyst set with 2 lighter stones - it may be old cut diamonds. The material the pin has been made of is very hard to tell from the photo. I would like to believe it is gold however gold does not tarnish and the pin looks tarnished in the same way silver would tarnish. I therefore presume that it is made of silver with an amethyst however diamonds are very rarely set in silver so it is most likely some other lighter stones - maybe moonstones. The style of the pin is very simple and elegant which leads me to believe that it was made in the 1930s-1940s.
The estimate given is assuming it is made of silver and not gold.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online jewellery auction, where I believe the pin has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the elegant pin. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
