What does this mean?

Dear Carrie,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

The presented object appears to be a display sword made in the last third of the 20th century. This sword is an imitation of the so-called Ninjatō sword from Japan which was used for the martial arts of the Ninja the ninjutsu. This piece is a modern reproduction and the blade was probably made from steel, the golden parts from brass or lacquered metal.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 15 to 30 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.

With kind regards,
George
