Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraised property.
The item appraised is a Cambodian Khmer Angkor Wat style bronze head a Buddha. It is not really a forgery, hence I am able to value it. Such decorative heads are legitimately made and sold as Khmer style in the market. The genuine heads on this scale were nearly always carved from sandstone and use for devotional purposes in Cambodia and situated in temples. You do get bronze heads but this is much rarer and they are normally smaller or from full statues on a smaller scale than your head would be. Genuine heads like yours would be 9th-12th century. From the style of the features, surface patination, facial expression and overall feel it appears your head is a 20th century reproduction and I have valued it accordingly.
Your head may have a slightly higher cost of it was bought in a retail environment but I have valued it realistically for you, and this is what I feel you could achieve by resale through auction or if you wanted to buy similar from one.
Please let me know if you need further help. Many thanks.
