I got it gifted from my next door neighbour as a child who was a avid traveler and he gave it to me as he was very old and dying and knew I liked old antiques. So it was gifted to me, yet all I know is he got it from a friend over in Asia while he was traveling. Gifted to him from a friend in Asia (I don’t remember which country) and then gifted it to me.

Hello!
I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal. I apologize for the little delay.

A sitting Thai Buddha statue on a fine throne. In the head there is the Ushnisha and the pose is Dhyana mudra which is universally used during meditation and relaxed states. These Buddha statues can represent teaching, meditation, or an attempt to reach enlightenment.
The Buddha is depicted seated on a throne with multiple protective symbols.
As it is not signed, it is not possible to determine the age exactly but it looks from 20th century, and made out of brass.
