I inherited this set from my mother and I wish to add pieces to the collection. But my mother insists this is an 1800s dated plate set and that whatever set they sell online is a replica and not the original setting. It’s Art Deco from what I can tell but I may be wrong

Dear Cynthia,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please name the number of the plates?
With kind regards,
Georg

Dear Cynthia,
Thank you for the additional images and your patience. The presented object is set of Burleigh Balmoral porcelain or ceramic consisting out of around 70 pieces for 12 people. The pieces are decorated with a golden decor, which was probably used in the 1920s and 1930s. Some pieces are damaged which lowers the estimate.
An estimation would be between 100 to 200 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
It’s an almost full set for 12 people around 70 pieces
