Burmese teakwood (often called Myanmar teak) is widely regarded as one of the finest furniture and shipbuilding woods in the world. Harvested from the forests of Myanmar, it has been prized for centuries because of its beauty, durability, and resistance to decay. During the 19th and early 20th centuries, Burmese teak became a major export of British colonial Burma. When used in furniture, it often appeared in Anglo-Indian furniture, Colonial campaign furniture, Art Deco furnishings and Midcentury Modern Scandinavian designs. It's density allowed for crisp carving while remaining durable enough for everyday use.

The bobbin turned legs and cleat-form stretcher of this table are in line with Art Deco aesthetics and while it was made in the Middle East it was clearly inspired by Western aesthetics.

The calligraphic Arabic inscription does read "Muhammad al-Aziz ... Pasha", though the sharp angle of the photo makes it difficult to read the bottom line.

King Faisal is a highly respected historical figure in Saudi Arabia. Objects associated with him—signed photographs, medals, official gifts, documents, furniture from royal commissions, and state presentation items—often attract strong interest because they connect to the period when Saudi Arabia emerged as a major global economic and political power.

I can't authenticate this table to the Faisal family based on the information provided in this appraisal but with greater documentation, this could be a significant find and best sold in an auction dedicated to Islamic works of art, such as those conducted by Bonhams or Christie's, both in London.

If the experts at Bonhams or Christie's agree with the provenance, this table could bring between £20,000-30,000.
