Large fine porcelain figurine of Geppetto carving Pinocchio. Approx 9.5" tall by 7.5" across the base, and weighs 1610g. Gold painted rim, silver appearance to the carving tools, all the beard and wood ends come to a fine point and are intact. Has the Capodimonte crowned N logo and artists signature is carved (appears to be Germano Cortese?). Doesn't have its box or original certificate of authenticity, was found in a mixed lot at auction with a number of other Pinocchio memorabilia, including another smaller Capodimonte of Pinocchio as a boy reading a book on a wall. Most other items have been able to verify as they appear more recent/more in the Disney style.
Bought at auction as part of a collectors set of Pinocchio memorabilia.
