Swung Carnival Glass Vase
Unidentified Manufacture: Possible Fenton, Jarrón, Dugan, or other
Production Range possible: 1890 to 1960s
Vase with a circular base in a tree or trumpet flower form with scalloped swung mouth. Glass color name and form is dependent on manufacture. Vase base glass color is a violet, amethyst, or peacock coloration with opalescent silver overlay. Vase is a two form mold or pressured glass form with an iridescent glitter glaze applied to the surface. Many companies created these similar forms at a lower production cost, in an industrialized process, to mimic items made in the Arts and Crafts movement of the early 20th century. Vase measures: 13 inch height x 4 5/8 inches diameter. Excellent condition with minimal wear on base. From images, I am unable to discern a maker's mark impression and believe this is a Fenton product example from the 1920's to 1950's. If a mark is identified; a lower FMV would result: $30 to $50 as mark was added to the mold in the mid-1960s.
