Wool carpet, previously refringed poorly, Size 120" x 195"
Cohen Family heirloom
Dear Janice,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. Your rug is a 20th-century Indo-Persian Kerman style rug and it appears to be in fair to good condition. Kerman style rugs are named for the south-central region of Iran from which they come. They are known for their use of wide range geometric and floral designs woven in broad color palette out of naturally dyed wool. Your rug appears to be in the Damask Rose design, which is the most common. Based on recent price realizations for rugs similar to yours in size, design and color palette a fair market value would be between 400 and 600 US dollars.
Best Regards,
Morgan
