What does this mean?

Dear Filip – You have a carved cinnabar snuff bottle with the mark of the Qianlong Emperor (1736-95) on the base. I think this is a 19th century reproduction of an 18th century piece but like your Song Dynasty cup some things must be seen face to face to authenticate. If it is a 19th century copy, you could expect between 80 to 100 euro at auction. However, if it is “of the period” you can expect closer to 725euro as a low estimate.
Again, if you have follow-up questions, let me know and thank you for submitting to Mearto.

Sincerely,

Erin-Marie
