This is a somewhat square-shaped biscuit jar with a silver-plated rim, lid and handle. The lid states, "Presented to Mrs. ? by her society class Woodville 1891." Not sure what her name is. There is a mark and a number stamped on the bottom of the jar and a raised mark also that looks like a banner. The lid is marked too The jar is 5.75 inches tall not including the lid. It is about 5 inches across each side. The diameter at the top is 4.25 inches. Does have crazing but no chips or cracks.
Belonged to our German mother who collected biscuit jars.

The lid bearing the mark for Shaw & Fisher, Sheffield, England, the mark in use after 1872
5 3/4 inches tall, 5 inches wide
CONDITION: tarnishing to silverplated lid and crazing to body but otherwise appears to be in good condition commensurate to age and use.
