What does this mean?

Dear Frances,

My apologies for my late reaction.
Your ginger jar is made in Canton and is called after that; Cantonese porcelain. It is made in a characteristic style, decorated in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong, China. Pots with a basic rose color scheme are also referred to as famille rose. Unfortunately your pot is not an antique but made somewhere around 1970 / 1980 I think. Older pieces are sought after nowadays but the more modern pieces are not valuable yet. Nevertheless the quality of the paintings in well done an I expect a price around the estimate if this came into an auction of sale room.
