Solid ceramic red bunny, weighs about 8 lbs. Roughly 14 inches from tail to nose, 12 inches tall. Whimsical black sketches of garden scene. Signed by artist (unknown).
Won at charity auction in New York City.
Good afternoon, Nicole,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. This has the look of a piece of contemporary art but I can't quite make out the signature either. Do you mind if I forward a couple of your photographs to a contemporary art expert to see if she can ID the artist? It might add a bit of time to the 48-hr promised window but I'd like to be as thorough as possible.
Thanks to confirm?
Delia
Hi Nicole,
The expert in contemporary art sculpture and multiples didn't recognize the signature either but is familiar enough with these kinds of things that if this was by a noted artist they would have identified it, so I am giving this a value on its merit, without an attribution. Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
International School, 20th/21st Century
Red Bunny
pottery, signed indistinctly
12 inches tall, 14 inches nose to tail
PROVENANCE: acquired at a charity auction
$200-300*

Hi Delia,
That would be great! Thank you!
