They have been in her living room
This is a pair of 1880s 19th century Victorian era mahogany chairs that were likely produced in America and have an Italianate flair and Eastlake influences. The chairs with the arms is for men and the armless chair for women, so as to accommodate their dresses. Originally this would have been part of a parlour set with a matching sofa or settee at least and a table or two. The Victorian furniture market is currently slumped and pieces from that era sell for almost half of what they used to sell for prior to the Recession. The current design trend is for Mid-Century Modern styles which has further impacted the current sale market of Victorian furniture. The estimate is for the pair together and is based on actual past auction record sales of comparables.
