Chairs were refinished & reupholstered ...original color was tan
My grandparents kept them in a barn in NJ.

A pair of Renaissance Revival carved walnut armchairs
American or European, late 19th Century
Each with a shell-and acanthus carved and rounded crest over a tufted back, bust-carved arm terminals, all raised on short legs ending in claw feet.
