Thank you for your reply and I think it is too much effort and dangerous to remove the glass.
The presented object appears to be a chalk or pastel drawing on paper or cardboard with measurements of 18 x 40 inches. The drawing depicts a view of a forest with a river in the middle. The artwork is illegible signed and the depiction and the perspective are a hint that this is a decorative artwork by a not academical trained or educated artist. It was made in the second half of the 20th century.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 60 to 120 USD.

My apologies, the signature is very difficult to read as the colors are dark and blends in with the painting. Let me know if I should remove the painting from the glass frame.
