Provenance

Many of the pieces had been collected through the years by grandfather and by my great grandfather Engr. Julio Rivadeneyra who lived in northern Peru central coast near Chiclayo. They have been privately purchased and/or gifted by family members who loved collecting like his cousin, Carlos Williams Leon who was a Peruvian architect and archeologist. https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Williams_Le%C3%B3n

What does this mean?

Based on the images, this item is:

A beautiful woven head-cloth made with panels of gauze weave joined with figures (6,5x5"). It has a very intricate and odd design that makes this particular piece very unique.

Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Chancay culture, ca. 800 to 1200 CE

The added embroidered outlines follow around the figures; cotton warp and weft threads, highly over-twisted.

Very good condition.

2500-3000 $

Thank you for the appraisal. I did notice that this item still reads "appraisal still in progress". Is it complete? Also, are all my appraisals now listed in the Marketplace? If so how do I find these listings? Dose Mearto take a percentage of sales?

Hello Meggie! Indeed your appraisal is completed now. I would recommend you to contact Mearto support service for further information. Have a nice day!
