Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a mexican chess set of the 1970s. Most of the chess board and figurines consist of resin with colour stone powder, plus some extra wood and plywood for the board.
This would have been an expensive travel souvenir at the time. General taste has changed and the supply of similar is high. The estimate is based on similar sold or offered at auction. The sentimental value it might represent to you will be higher.
Well, a wise man once said, don´t fill your pockets with bad stones, then you might have no space for the good ones.
Or may I cite the great Janis Joplin: "Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose"
Just in case you are planning to buy something expensive, we´ll be glad to give you an honest appraisal before you buy.
Lol...I got one even better. Fifteen years of claiming a ladder to get to the top, only to fine out you were on the wrong ladder. When I said pay out the@ for junk, I meant to say. I didn't have to out the@ to get it appraise to find out it's junk. I wouldn't know were to begin if I wanted to buy something expensive. I can't even trust my instincts anymore.
Man!!!..This is crazy; I been holding on to this piece of @ for over fifteen years, Thinking it's worth something, only to find out it's nothing but junk. I'm welling to bet you were being generous with your appraisal. I'm not going to embarrassed myself by wasting my time trying to sell this !!!!!!!!!!
I gest I should be thankful I didn't have to pay out the @ for this junk. I'm done....
