What does this mean?

Hi Rose,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

Jarolina china refers to vintage porcelain dinnerware and tea sets made in Poland, primarily from the 1950s through the 1970s. These pieces are recognized by marks reading “Made in Poland” with a crown and the name Jarolina, though some collectors note confusion with Karolina (or Favolina) marks — similar Polish china names that are often mixed up in vintage identification.

Most full services of 100 pieces or more rarely sell at auction for more than $200 or $300 and you have a small fraction of that; considered all together, this would likely sell for less than $100 at auction, most likely in the $50-75 range.

Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

A vintage 35-piece Jarolina China porcelain part dinner and tea service
made in Poland, mid 20th Century, comprising:
8 soup bowls
4 vegetable bowls
11 teacups with
8 saucers
1 platter
1 serving bowl
1 teapot
1 covered sugar bowl
DIMENSIONS:
Teacup: 4 inches diameter
Bowl: 4-1/2 inches diameter.
Small saucer: 4-1/2 inches diameter
Serving bowl: 7 inches diameter
Platter: 11 by 7-1/2 inches
CONDITION: This appears to be in generally good condition with minor wear commensurate to age and use.
PROVENANCE: Acquried at a yard/garage sale
$50-75 for the group*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
