This charming figure exhibits the characteristic form of a seated figure with widespread legs. Related examples of similar size have sold in the $500-700 range but because of the gallery provenance to Kennard Hartwell Galleries, it is worth a bit more
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique Chinesco polychromed earthenware or terracotta figure
Nayarit, Santiago Compostela area, Pre-classic period, 100 BCE to 250 CE
The seated figure with disproportionate head, arms akimbo and seated with widespread legs and disproportionate buttocks.
14 inches overall height
CONDITION: This vessel appears to be in good condition with some expected wear commensurate to age.
