Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a late Qing Dynasty era wooden box for storing writing utensils. The box has brass and forged iron fittings and ornately decorated knobs. There are no markings or signatures that would give further clues on its origin, but a provincial area is likely. The chinese inkstick and the inkstone are rather common and modest in appearance and might date to the same period. The estimate is based on similar items offered or sold at auction.
The insurance appraisal for this item is $700.
