13" tall x 8" wide in middle
Hello, this item is a pair of Chinese Export porcelain pilgrim’s water bottles, dating to around 1850. The rounded bodies with flattened sides are richly decorated in polychrome enamels, showing courtly and domestic scenes framed with floral borders and applied details. This type of vessel, often called “pilgrim flasks,” was popular during the mid-19th century as part of the export trade to Europe. The provenance, noted from Kevin Page Oriental Art in London, adds further credibility to their authenticity and collectability. Each bottle measures about 13 inches tall and 8 inches wide at the center, a standard size for such decorative objects.
The market for Chinese Export porcelain remains strong, especially for pairs in excellent condition such as these. Comparable examples from the mid-19th century, when sold through reputable auction houses, have achieved values between 3,000 and 6,000 USD for the pair, depending on the quality of the enameling and market demand.
