Traditional Chinese ink and color painting on paper, depicting flowering plants and an insect. The work bears a handwritten inscription/signature reading "寄萍" (Jiping) and a red square seal. I was told that the work was acquired in Beijing from an antiques bazaar and was described to me as an old work from a private family collection. I currently have no documentary provenance. The present frame was added later by me and is not original to the artwork. I am particularly interested in determining the approximate date, authenticity, possible artist attribution, and whether the inscription and seal are consistent with works by Qi Baishi. I would also appreciate an indication of market value if the attribution proves genuine. I understand that photographs alone may not be sufficient to establish authenticity.
