Nine pictures woven on silk. The largest (framed) image and the only one in color measures approx. 19-1/2" x 13-12".
My late father brought them back from China in 1945. They were professionally mounted and framed stateside. Displayed only in the family home.
Hello Stephen,
Thank you for your appraisal inquiry with Mearto. I apologize for the delay in your appraisal and thank you for your patience. The items presented appear to be framed silk tapestries depicting various Chinese landscapes and pergolas. The works do not appear to be signed or marked in any definitive way in order to attribute them to an artist. Based on the images, the items appear in good condition with no damage and appear to date to the mid-20th century. While the scenes are charming, they appear to be more decorative.
The estimate provided is based on recent auction estimates and results of other comparable fabric tapestries of Chinese landscapes, not attributed to a specific artist. The estimate is contingent on a full condition report. Please note asking or dealer prices may vary. Thank you and please take care.
