PURCHASED AT A FACTORY IN CHINA. IT IS 13 INCHES DIAMETER. HAS DECORATIVE PAINTING. SOME INSCRIPTION ON BACK
UNKNOWN
Hi Toni,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
There is a small red underglaze mark on the bottom that identifies the maker of this plate, which was made for the export market. Can you take a clearer photo of that mark and upload it here?
Also, what is the diameter of the plate?
Many thanks in advance,
Delia
Thanks, Toni!
I'm not finding that mark in any of my Chinese export porcelain books so can't tell you the name of the company that made this but it was made for the export market, in China.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A Chinese export hand-painted porcelain and parcel gilt cabinet plate
Made in China for the export market, early 20th Century
Depicting beauties in a pavilion, within a stylized border; marked on the verso with export labels.
13 inches diameter
PROVENANCE: acquired at auction
$150-250*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
IS THE NEW PICTURE CLEAR ENOUGH AND IS IT WHAT YOU WANTED. IT DOES SAY HAND PAINTED ON BACK. THOSE THREE MARKS ARE THE ONLY ONES I CAN SEE. THE PLATE IS 13 INCHES IN DIAMETER. LET ME KNOW IF I CAN GIVE YOU ANY OTHER INFORMATION.
