This appears to be a Chinese late Qing Dynasty / republic period Agate Snuffbottle with bas-relief featuring a crane among clouds, possibly silver mounted with carnelian lid. There are a few imperfection in the carving which would indicate that this is a hand crafted piece. In Chinese mythology cranes are symbolically connected with the idea of long life or even immortality. The estimate is based on similar items offered or sold at auction
