Hello Julian,
Thank you for your appraisal inquiry with Mearto. The item presented appears to be an etching and aquatint with chine collé on ivory wove paper by Tony Fitzpatrick (American, born 1958) titled "Circus Dog," published in 1991. The print appears to be titled, signed and numbered II/V (2/5) to the lower margin. There is significant moisture damage to about half of the sheet which greatly effects the value.
The estimate provided is based on recent auction estimates and results of this work and other comparable etchings by Fitzpatrick, with some noted condition statement. The estimate is contingent on a full condition report. Please note asking or dealer prices may vary. Thank you and please take care.
Hi Julian, the range includes the damage. Of course, it is a best estimation based on the photos. I full assessment of the damage would narrow the range.
What will it be worth before the damage? I need that price to claim for insurance.
The range also includes the best case scenario for the print. If the print was in better condition, it would be valued to the higher end of the provided estimate. An insurance estimate is included in the appraisal.
Thank you
Thank you for the appraisal. This piece was just water damaged in my basement. Is the price appraised includes the water damage, or is the price appraised without the water damage?
Thank you.
