What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be pair of figurines or lamp bases or spill vases of the mid 20th century. The slip cast ceramic blanks were most likely available from a factory and then sold to porcelain painters. The pair in your possession was painted by an experienced painter "R. Henderson" and dated "Oct. 1949", who chose to paint these rococo revival figurines in a kind of art decoish range of colours. Unfortunately the painter is not known. The estimate is based on similar figurines by lesser known manufacturers actually sold at auction.
