This is a French Louis style commode with marble top and slide out writing desk surface with tooled leather. The wood front is done with a marquetry, or inlaid wood, floral design in fruitwoods and the corners have ormolu mounts. Though done in the French Louis style, this commode dates to the early 20th century. The estimate is based on actual past recorded auction sales.
