White ceramic set with green leaf pattern comprising jug and basin, two-piece soap set, two-piece washer set and slop bucket, rattan handled. No chips or cracks.
Bought from secondhand dealer who had bought it twice from the same family in different estate sales.

This appears to be a 1950s bathroom set in the "Rosebud Chintz" pattern, a pattern which has been very popular and in production from approx. 1954 to 1971. The pattern consists of an all-over motif of dark red / pink roses in full bloom and buds and foliage and small blue flowers, all against an off-white ground. The basic form design of the bathroom set dates back to the late 19th century and was a common sight all thru the british empire. The combination of a somewhat outdated bathroom set together with a fifties decoration is rather unique. The estimate is based on similar items offered or sold at auction.
