They were bought to Israel by an Iranian man, time of the Shah
Unknown
Hi Elissa,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Are these about 12 inches in diameter?
Are these marked on the back?
So that I may best assist you, can you please confirm the dimensions and - if these are marked on the back - take photos of the marks and add them to this appraisal (if they are all the same, one good photo of one of the marks is fine).
Thanks!
Delia
Thanks, Elissa,
These look like the kind of souvenir copper plates one would probably find in a bazaar or market, not very old and with modest decorative value. The 10-inch plates (the one with JFK on it) might be worth as much as $75-125, the 8 1/2-inch and 8-inch plates probably $50-75 each; and the 6-3/8 inch plate $40-60, for a combined total of $300-500 (I rounded up because it's nice to have a collection). This would be catalogued as:
An assembled collection of 7 Iranian or Middle Eastern repousse copper plates
20th Century
One with American subject matter, of varying sizes (6 3.8 to 10 inches in diameter), unmarked.
$300-500*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
I’m sorry- I had the dimensions and forgot to put them. (2) 8.5 in diameter
(3) 8 in in diameter. 1 is 6.34 and 1 is 10 inch in diameter. They are unfortunately not marked on the back.
