This is a set of antique, late 19th century, about 1885 - 1890's, Victorian era, ABP, or American Brilliant Period cut crystal candleholders with hanging prisms. These are also referred to as mantel prism lusters. They were usually placed on a mantel to catch the flicker of firelight and candles before use of electricity in homes. There were a myriad of makers producing fine cut glass in that era; these were possibly made by Dorflinger Glass. The estimate is for the pair together and is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
4 of the hanging prisms are missing. They are 3 sided prisms and I would like to replace them. I there any place I can buy them?
Please add more images from different angles and views, such as close-ups of the surface, of this candle holder, as well as a photo showing the pair together.
