Hello Abigail,
I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal,
Considering the photographs, overall pattern, glass quality and the colours, I concluded that this is a Bohemian Glass Style Small Service Platter with Handle dating back to the period from 1970 to 1990. The piece was hand made but by using electrical machines. So the cuts are executed by a person using a electrical carving tool. This Bohemian style floral glass carving technique was very popular all around the world, especially in the Western market throughout the last quarter of the 20th century. It is likely made in U.S, very little likely that it was exported from Europe. Some of the details on this piece are made by molding techniques rather than carving. Piece was mainly produced and used for two purposes, first purpose is that it could easily be a small platter you can hold and serve candy or soem sort of offering to the guests and the second use could be a portable candle holder which allows you to walk with the candle. The piece has a dice decoration on it's center accompanied by floral designs. Quite decorative with central flower shapes. The piece is in good conditon with several chips to it's rim.
Partially Hand Carved Glass.
Dimensions: 7 Inches in Diameter including handle, 2.5 Inches High
Condition: The piece is in good conditon with several chips to it's rim.
Provenance: Unknown.
30-40$.
