Hi Tonya,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
E. Schmeckenbecher was a renowned German manufacturer of high-quality cuckoo clocks, known for their intricate wood carvings and precise craftsmanship. Based in the Black Forest region, the company produced traditional, weight-driven cuckoo clocks with charming details and mechanical movements, making them sought-after collectibles among clock enthusiasts worldwide. Emil Schmeckenbecher company was founded in 1948 and went out of business in 1996, so this clock isn't very old but it was carved in the style of earlier clocks.
The presence of three birds is a particularly nice feature.
Schmeckenbecher clocks bring only modest prices at auction - typically less than $50 - but because this is such a nice example, it warrants a value of $75-100
