declaration of independents
found old box of book
This is a engraved print copy of the American Declaration of Independence from 1776. Note, not Independents and not from 1774. Your copy is not one of the original written copies from the 18th century, but a printed copy likely from the later 20th century, i.e. 1976 for the American Bicentennial. The original document was written to represent the 13 Colonies and declaring independence from British rule. There were print copies that were made in the 1840s by Peter Force, which do sell for $10,000 - $15,000, however yours appears to be a 20th century print copy, of which there are many on the market. It is recommended to have this inspected in person by a print dealer. Again, this is definitely not an original from 1776. There is a scant possibility this may be a 19th century stone lithograph copy though this is most likely a 1976 Bicentennial era print reproduction. The estimate is based on this being a 1976 printing and utilizes actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
