Design and construction prints originating from production, prior to the 1977 Star Wars release
Provenance: Discovered around 1979 in the garage of a 2 story Whitley Heights building in LA, where we had been renting the top floor after Stevie Nicks moved out. We saved and preserved these and several other hi-res design and construction prints originating from production, prior to the 1977 Star Wars release—all in good condition. Have perfunctorily researched online memorabilia — found some USPO design patent drawings—and mostly low-res merch., that is clearly not private collector quality. I encountered nothing comparable to the quality of what we possess. No decision yet on your engagement on auction potential or promotion. I have more to appraise subsequent to your initial response. In any appraisal, we consider recent auction sales of comparable items; in the case of these prints, they may be one-offs or at best were made in only a very limited number.
Heritage Auctions in Dallas, TX, occasionally holds Star Wars auctions and these designs might do very well there.
I've had a look at their results (https://www.ha.com/c/search/results.zx?term=star+wars+drawing&si=2&archive_state=5327&sold_status=1526&mode=archive&page=48%7E1&ic=KeywordSearch-A-K-071316), which I encourage you to review (they do not charge for access to their prices but you do need to register to view them).
Their experts in Star Wars memorabilia and ephemera will know if any of these were printed in volume and what collectors might be willing to pay, but I would value them each between $500-1,500, possibly more for the larger ones.
I've not included in my total the print of which you show only a detail (exterior of the Cantina) but would be happy to include it if you can take/upload an image of the entire work.
