Diego rivera ( rural study) chalk on paper
9”x11”
Dear Yassine,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a chalk on paper study of a female figure. The drawing measures approximately 9 x 11 in. and has been attributed to the Mexican artist Diego Rivera (1886-1957) due to the presence of the signature in the bottom left of the composition and a label on the verso that appears to be a bill of sale from 1947 to Jack Beny (possible spelling error). This piece is in good condition and no severe damage is visible in the images provided.
Unfortunately, neither the style, the quality of the composition nor the handwriting are comparable to authenticated artworks by Diego Rivera. Consider the following comparables:

Therefore, the unfortunate conclusion from this investigation is that the work of art presented is most likely a forgery, which holds no market value.
