60inches pedestal with 8 chairs
Was bought from a judges estate sale in Dallas TX 79 early 89’s
Good morning, Traci,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This was most likely made in a large shop or small factory; I would not be surprised if inside one of the drawers in the sideboard there was a maker's mark. If you look and see one, can you please take a photo and upload it to this inquiry; I will then have a second look to see if I need to reconsider the value.
I have priced the set in two ways - an overall value if you decide to sell it as a complete set, and also by the individual pieces if you decide to sell it in parts though dining sets are usually more valuable if sold intact.
Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A Colonial Revival style mahogany dining set
circa 1930s-1940s
Comprising:
A single pedestal dining table ($400-600)
A set of 8 chairs, comprising two arm and six side chairs ($300-500)
A demilune console table ($100-150)
A sideboard ($300-500)
PROVENANCE: acquired at the estate sale of a Dallas judge
CONDITION: not examined in person; appears to be commensurate with age and use.
(if sold as a set: $1,500-2,500)*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
