Dining table and six chairs, plus buffet. Buffet is excellent condition. Table is good but needs some stabilizing. Chairs need to be reupholstered. We bought at an antique store in the ‘70s and they were represented to be 100 years old then.
Purchased at an antique store in Ruidiosa, New Mexico.
Hi Ron and Jan,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
These are probably not quite as old as you were led to believe but since I can't examine these in person I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say late 19th/early 20th Century to cover all the bases.
If you'd like for your appraisal to include dimensions, which is customary, please forward in the comments section - at your convenience - the height, width and depth and I'll update this ASAP.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage Renaissance Revival style carved walnut dining room suite
late 19th/early 20th Century, comprising:
Dining table with three lined flatware drawers (dimensions)
Set of six chairs, two arm and four side chairs (dimensions)
Sideboard (dimensions)
CONDITION: wear commensurate to age and use. client represents the sideboard to be in excellent condition, the table in need of stabilizing and the chairs need reupholstering.
PROVENANCE: acquired from a dealer in the 1970s
$3,000-5,000 for the set*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you again for using Mearto.
Thanks for letting me know about the flatware drawers; I've included those in the appraisal.
You've used up just one item for this dining suite; if you bought credit for 5 you should be able to submit inquiries on four additional items.
Items should be submitted separately UNLESS they make sense to be sold as a set (such as in the case of the dining suite). Unless the Duncan Phyfe is part of the bedroom suite it should have its own inquiry.
I appraise all of the furniture inquiries that come through Mearto as well as several other categories; we look forward to working with you in the future.
Hi, Delia. Thanks so much for getting back to us so quickly.
I did fail to mention the serving drawer on the dining table. I’m sure you’ve seen them. Ours has 3 compartments lined with green velvet to keep serving spoons, etc. The girls loved it when they were little!
Also, we do have other items we might like appraised but I’m not sure how the pricing structure works. We selected the 5 for $85. Did we use all of that credit up on the dining suite?
We have a Duncan Phyfe we’re interested in getting an appraisal for as well as a bedroom suite.
Appreciate your help and look forward to hearing back from you.
Jan
