I got this bottle of scotch in 1972 in Viet Nam. I was told by the village chief that gave it to me that the French brought it to the village in the 1950’s. They gave a couple of cases to the village chief’s father. The scotch is allegedly from the 1890’s . I don’t know if this is true or not but I thought I’d send you these photos. The bottle has never been opened and unfortunately there is some evaporation. I’m just wondering if this scotch has any value? Please advise. I can supply more photos if needed. There are no other labels on the bottle except what is shown here.

Dear Chuck,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. My sincere apologies for the delay with the apprisal.
The presented object appears to be a bottle of Duncan MacAlpine Scotch Whisky bottled and blended by Forth Blending Co. Glasgow with perhaps some less than 500 ml. It is sadly unlikely that this is an 1890 Scotch Whisky because of the design of the bottle and the label. If this would be such a precious age it would be definitely mentioned on the front of the label to point out its worth. It is more likely that this is a Duncan MacAlpine Scotch Whisky from the 1950s perhaps later.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 150 to 300 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
