No history available. I purchased these 2 vases at an estate auction. They are cut crystal, apparently made in 3 sections as evidenced by the 2 rings. They each measure 29.5" high. The circumference at widest part of the bulbous base is 37"; 15" around the narrowest area of the "neck"; and only 4.5' in diameter at the flat bottom. No markings or symbols that I can find.
Purchased at a local auction house - selling articles from a private estate.
Dear Mary,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. The presented object is a pair of cut crystal vases. The measurements are 29,5 high, the vases have high proportions and are separated into 3 sections. These pieces were probably made in the late 19th or more probable in the early 20th century. It is quite difficult to localize cut-glass objects but one of the main centers was Bohemia in Europe but also in the US some manufactures in this high-quality level like these pair produced in this time.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 300 to 600 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
Dear Mary,
You are very welcome. My estimate includes the pair. The estimation of carved crystal glass objects is very difficult on the base of images. The quality of the carving and the quality of the glass is visible in little details. My named estimates are meant as a base auction limit.
With kind regards,
Georg
Dear Georg,
Thank you for your prompt response. Am I to assume that $300-$600 applies to the pair vs. individually?
