16 inches long by 18 inches tall, thirty to forty pounds, bronze, Asian warrior carrying lady, has spear and sheild.. Think it's a Remington peace
One of a kind bronze statue that was commissioned by a town for the sculpture to make for them.. Was priced at $33,000.00 paid $22,000 from a antique store in key West, FL. Called the duck and dolphin.
This is an antique to vintage cast metal figural by the French sculptor, Jules-Edmond Masson (1871 - 1932). There is no relation of this work or the artist Masson to the artist Frederic Remington at all. The figures portrayed in this are a Nordic Viking male warrior (not an Asian warrior) on horseback who has abducted a woman, likely from a foreign conquest. It is along the theme of the Rape of the Sabines and she is not a willing captive. This may be cast spelter metal and now bronze; the patina is lackluster if it is bronze (do not try to polish or shine the surface). If it is bronze, there should be a foundry mark on this as well, usually impressed on the surface and resembling a coin medallion shape. The estimate is based on actual recent past actual recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail prices may be higher and vary.
