Early 1900s station of the cross shadow box
22” tall, 12” wide, 2” deep, glass front. Approx 8 lb.s, bottom has glass enclosed box with last supper picture, and candle holders inside (2).
Purchased from lady who bought it 20 years ago at antique shop.

This is an antique, circa 1900, Catholic Last Rites home altar featuring a plaster figural of the Pieta in a shadowbox with applied reverse glass framing around the figural. The box is intended for wall hanging. The drop front cabinet at the bottom, with a color lithograph reproduction print of The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci, would hold the Holy Water and Communion for Last Rites when a person is too sick, invalid or ill to physically go to Church for Mass.
