Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a small earthenware crock, handmade by using a two part mold, the clay pressed into it, not hand thrown. The crock resembles older stoneware crocks, but the manufacturing technique would quite unusual for an early piece. The grey colour which resembles stoneware is most likely a grey engobe, the leaf ornament on the outside might be just cold painted. Production date might be second half 20th century. The estimate is based on decorative crocks offered or sold at auction.
