MSLC floor torchiere with era-appropriate shade
28 October 2025
Description

A tall floor torchiere stamped with “Mexico” “sunset” and 4 digits I’ve been struggling to decipher. Extensive research points to this being a Mutual Sunset Lamp Co torchiere (possibly model 4530 by Gilbert Rhodes or his influence) in an art deco style. It has a frosted amber upside-down bell-shaped shade with an etched(?) ring around it. It is seemly all brass with a weighted 3-spoke base. It is in good, working condition with minimal tarnishing and the wiring has been replaced with what appears to be modern standards but doesn’t look to have altered the original appearance.
