The appraised work is a watercolor and pencil drawing on paper executed by Edmund Becker (d. 1800), an English artist active in the 18th century. The work depicts a lush landscape with multiple trees and what appears to be an inscription on the lower right. Very little is known about Becker, but he seems to have routinely created rural and landscape works depicting various locales of the British and Welsh countryside.
The estimate provided is based on comparables recently offered and sold at auction. In many cases, pricing for similar examples available on the primary (retail) market vary and are often higher than secondary (auction) market examples.
